Although Periyiali, just a mile or so to the north, has easy access to the comparatively bright lights of Nidri, it offers a quieter holiday. It also has a long shingle beach, called Passa which affords excellent swimming in clear water.
Like Nidri, Periyiali is a good choice if you want to get out and about because most excursions – and Lefkas has a good selection of these by both bus and boat – pick-up from here.
A 20 minute walk down the road (30 mins to the centre – note, this road can be busy) lively Nidri has a full range of watersports and a wide choice of cafés, bars and restaurants. A taxi back will cost only a few euros. In Periyiali you can be as active or as lazy as you please!
